Sadowsky Ultralight or Portabag?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all,

I have a Sadowsky modern on order at the moment and I am wondering something about the case options. I know (for sure) that I would prefer to have the Portabag for my new bass; however, here is the issue.

The bass will have to be sent from NYC to Vancouver, Canada. I am wondering if the Ultralight is better protection for shipping. Would the Portabag provide similar protection. As I said, once it is in my hands I would much prefer the Portabag.

Also sent an email to Kevin, but looking for additional opinions.

Nino does a Very Secure Job Packing up the Basses, So your bass will be safe either way.... so it's really up to you.

If the Portabag fits you better for your uses, then go with that. There are great cases.

+1 THAT would be a double bag I would purchase. I tried one of those DUB bags and it was just too heavy and bulky for me. The lighter weight of the PortaBag might really work in a double!

Done Deal

I have changed my NYC order to ship in the Portabag (instead of Ultralight case). Not even any upcharge (even though the bag is about $70 more expensive, gotta like that.

I got my portabag yesterday. if feels heavy when you pick it up, but on your back it's another story. most comfortable gig bag (is it even a gig bag?) i've ever owned.
