safe to play with a wet head?

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm sitting here looking at TB instead of playing my bass b/c I just finished washing my hair. It will take 2 or 3 hours to dry. Can I safely play bass during that time? I have a friend who got electrocuted simply by steping on an electrical cord in bare feet. I don't want to take a chance that something similar will happen to me because of my wet head. (NO, I dont step on the cord!) This might be a silly question but who else can I ask?

The serious answer is that a bass is strictly a sealed unit and the connector cable is also insulated. I also doubt that your head would make contact with anything electronic bass-wise as it is simply not in contact with the bass in normal playing. Feet however are much more vunerable and also inconstant contact with the floor.
So you can play bass!

I play with my wet head all the time, although I'm more comfortable when it's someone else playing with my wet head.

I hope they don't get a nasty shock - but if they stand on the wires I can't help it...

I had heard that you must wait at least 30 minutes or you'll get cramps. ...or that could actually be a myth...

"What???"
"Myth! Myth!"

"Yeth?"

Yeah 3 hours for your hair to dry seems a bit excessive

Yes, but they *have* to be made with special safeguards that prevent them from being dangerous.
