Salt-n-Pepa's "Push it," and other classics from the mid 80's to the mid 90's

I need your help!

I decided to make a mix CD for my wife, including some of those classic rap/r&b/dance songs from the mid 80's to the mid 90's. I also added some of the, well, funnier ones from more recently, such as "Milkshake" from Kelis and "Get Busy" from Sean Paul. Only problem is I can't remember all the greats, or at least the names of the groups responsible for them.

So, pitch in and help me come up with a list of those indespensable "hits!"

So far, I've got these:

The two mentioned above
-Run DMC's Mary, Mary; My Adidas; You be Illin' and Run's House
-LL's I Need Love
-Ice, Ice baby
-Me So Horny
-Bust a Move
-Push It

Give me some more to add to the list!

Da Butt-can't remember who did that classic.

Also Funky Cold Medina

singer from my 80's Top 40 band and I just played a game of "And do you remember....?"

There was some funny stuff back then.

Lisa Stansfield's "All Around The World"

hmmm...

Don't forget Bootsy, baby!

What about "Groove is in the Heart" by Dee Light? Didn't that have Bootzilla on the bass?

Sugarhill Gang's "Rapper's Delight" is always a gooder, along with one of my personal favourites, "How Bizarre" by OMC.

This might be the most awesome mix tape ever!

Or CD... whatever.

Oh man, this one is right in my wheelhouse. My wife has an enormous CD collection of all this music from the 90's. If you need a disk made up, let me know. Here are some ideas.

Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch - Good Vibrations
Ace of Base - All That She Wants
Wrecks N Effect - Knock-N-Boots
Kris Kross - Jump
Rob Base - Joy And Pain
MC Hammer - Can't Touch This
Information Society - Pure Energy
3rd Bass - Pop Goes The Weasel

I could go on....

It's funny that you say that: I'm actually teaching Hammer's son how to play percussion this school year. I had no idea until sometime last summer that he'd been in my class before for other music as well.

Great list so far guys! Of course, this is gonna cost me, but the giggles are worth it!
