in Athens. They killed. At last, they stopped fooling around and talking stupid for half the show (as they did back in '99 when I had seen them again). Unfortunately, the stadium acoustics sucked and that was the only negative. They came out and played for a whole hour straight with not intermissions, great songs from their first 4 albums... then they fulled around for 10-15 minutes (the usual stuff, ****** from the audience to play guitar and chick to show t*ts) and then back to songs. Great playlist, they played three songs from Into Glory Ride, Gloves of Metal, March for Revenge and Secrets of Steel, they also played Each Dawn I Die, Blood of my Enemies, Mountains, The Oath etc etc. They also had with them Rhapsody (who had very bad sound, I guess that they would be fine if it wasn't for that) and Holyhell, which are the group of Rhino (manowar's drummer in "triumph of steel") and who were crap.

Well, yes they are ridiculous as far as their image and statements go, but I love their first albums music-wise.

In all seriousness, it sounds like you had a good time. I'm glad.

I haven't seen a truly enjoyable live show in quite a while, but I'm holding out hope that the upcoming Adrian Belew and the Bears show will change all that.

Well, they are idiots, but if you like epic metal there's just nothing like their early albums... apart from that, I guess some people just need to belong, and if there's one band that presents itself like a cult then that's manowar. But mainly it's because of the music IMO, attitude can't get you such a following.

Seeing Manowar and Rhapsody (Of Fire) on the same bill would be awesome. Sounds like a good time- cheese overload! (Not a bad thing! )

Heh I don't care about Rhapsody anymore (although I love their first album), but it would have been a cool show if the sound was bearable.
