Scales and such

Sign in to disble this ad
I have been playing bass for awhile but was self-tought, basicly I have little to no knowledge of scales and formulas. I have found scales and I get the jist of how to read them (I think) but I do have some questions. So basicly the major scale formula would be 1st fret, 2nd, and so on till 7th with #s being 1 fret higher and b's being 1 fret lower, correct? And all other scales are just alterations on that based on whole note scales or half note scales?
