Here's the problem, I've got no idea what to choose. I was wondering if perhaps the guys on this board could lend me a hand maybe help me out in choosing something suitable? I want play the best piece possible but I don't know what they want, do you think they mean stlyes as in rock, funk, jazz etc or playing styles?
Sorry for the confused post. I'm stressing a bit atm.
Anyway any ideas on the piece? Maybe if you can help me out in choosing one I can post recordings on it and you can help me critique it, so I can improve. |
Wrong forum, but eh
I would probably look for a lead sheet of tune I knew really, really, really well. A tune that there really could be no conceivable way I'd mess up on. Other than that, I'd assume it's not necessarily the choice of song they're going to be analyzing, but the techniques and style you employ on the tune you chose.
If I had to audition tomorrow (I think I have to in a few months actually

) I'd probably bring Chick Corea's "Spain" so I could run the head, and unison and solo over the form. It's something I'm familiar with that makes me sound "good" and it's a very distinct tune.
