I've heard this called a couple different things: basically the constant 'kick on the off beat' or &, with the 2 and 4 snare beat. Maybe 1/8 or 1/4 note high hats.
Ya know the one?

What do you call that? Someone mentioned it in the drummer thread..
I've googles it before but I've never seen a 'formal' definition or declaration.

Or is that what you call something else? I know metal guys might have another more specific beat come to mind.
