I just want a monophonic moog though.. probably gonna go with DSI for my poly.

| | | | Good job! A couple years ago I stumbled upon Moog Taurus I pedals for only $300 (and had just missed a Moog Source for sale at the same place by *that much*.) The awesome scores are still out there, though they are fewer and further in between in these internet days. |

Its not quite a full blown Moog from the time but one of the first polyphonics in that size(most of the string machines were Italian I belive but ARP made one like that also).
It lacks the individule ADSR for each osc, and does not have the third sub osc used on many Moogs.
But play around with the setings and you can still get some real kick A.....Um But sounds out of it
As a side note Radio Shack used to sell the same thing under the Tandy brand in the 70s |

| | | And the Opus 3 (and a Source) making an appearance in the Rentals' Friends of P video. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1jqsgVtcC6E One of the main bands responsible for making Moogs cool (and generally pricey!) again (in the late 80's you would have a hard time even just giving away your old Minimoog!) |

Moog Taurus I for $300? If I scored a Moog Taurus for anything under $1000 I'd be a happy camper, but $300?! Lucky you!

I walked into the shop just intending to trade off some effects pedals and I saw it across the shop on the floor amongst the keyboards... I did a double take when I saw the price sticker on it. Either the shop owner just didn't know what he had on hand or he was selling it cheap because it did sound kinda messed up when I tried it out there in the store. But I bought it anyway after some internal debate, thinking I could just get it fixed up, because I might never have another opportunity like that again. But lo and behold, when I got home, it worked just fine. Maybe it just didn't like the power strip it was connected to in the store, or something... with a finicky old analog synth beast that's 30+ years old, who knows. But anyway, I think I used up all my stored good karma that day! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
