The Secret of Radiohead's Music Video "Just"???

Sign in to disble this ad
hey all,

my bud let me have his copy of "7 Commercials", which is a DVD showcasing 7 of Radiohead's music videos. anywho, i remember seeing the video for "Just" in college, and yet to this day, i still havent found out what the man said to freak everyone out?

for those who need a little mental jogging, it starts with a guy laying down on the sidewalk, and after another dood trips over him, people keep asking the man on the pavement why he's there, but refuses tell people saying its sooo horrible, he wouldnt dare tell him. course, to make matters more freakie, its all told in subtitles. well, he does tell them, tho, sans subtitles, and next thing you know it, they're all on the pavement.

course, i'm bad at reading lips. anyone wanna enlighten me?

No body knows. Really, no body but the band members. That is my favorite video though.

Here Thom tells the story of how he once had a narcissistic friend he was compelled to elude. Musically, "Just" is considered the most complex track on the Bends album, and it proves beyond a doubt that Jonny's guitar playing is original and superb. A live version of this track is available on the double-CD compilation Evening Sessions: Priority Tunes; while it captures the intensity of the song live, the original remains the best.

The video to the song is one of the most frustrating ever written - but nobody knows what the man says at the end, and there is no use asking as the band have said that they are never going to reveal the answer. Jamie Thraves, the producer had said "to tell you would deaden the impact, and would probably make you want to lie down in the road too".

I hear that they used the same line in Lost In Translation, when Bill Murray whispers into the ear of that chick he met in Japan. Great line; great movie.

He says "Truth is people, this was all just an idiotic plot to get you to waste your time and now that you know this you'll probably want to lie on the floor as well."

Thank you Dave.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you.

I love that video. I downloaded it and watch it every now and then. Its one of the only Radiohead songs I really like.
