I've seen him, and as much as I respect him, I really thought the gig was too 'clean' you know?

What I meant was, it was too rehearsed, too brushed off, overproduced so to say, but live.

Then again, I'm mostly a Cream fan, so maybe I went to the concert with the wrong expectations..

Clapton is touring with a new band which should be exciting. Gone is Nathan East, Steve Gadd, Andy Fairweather-Low, etc.

His new band consists of:

Willie Weeks/Bass
Doyle Bramhall/guitar
Derek Trucks/Guitar
Steve Jordan/drums

That's a killer lineup.

I saw Clapton in 74 doing the 461 Ocean Blvd tour. Then again in 1998. He's great and getting better.

There great players, but why does Clapton need two other guitar players, live??????
