It seemed like a good Idea at the time

I'm sure there is something out there but hey if we can have a million what gear is best threads then why not.

A thread mostly for those who have been doing this a while.
What product do you remember from in the day and you just look back now and wonder what was I thinking?

Any one remember Nashville Straight's the never coiled guitar string? Makes sense coiling can't be good, so what they cost 3 times as much because of shipping

I also seem to remember a Hammer bass ad where the tuner had two surfaces, would look like this from above + ? Makes sense my hand slips off the peg every time

Alverez Scoop?

Actually, I go back and forth over whether it's a good idea. And currently I wish I had one.

Alvarez Yairi had a dreadnaught guitar with nine strings. The E, A, and D strings were single strings. But the G, b, & e were all doubled like on a 12-string. It sounded surprisingly good. But MAN, it was ugly. And good luck finding a case for it. The headstock used full size tuners, six in a row on the bottom edge. It made the headstock nearly a foot long.
