Apparently this one guitarist named Steve Procopio had to quit performing because he developed seizures from standing to close to the amp. can someone explain this?

Hi.

Inner ear related perhaps?

On the other hand almost anything vibrating in our brains could be a trigger to a seizure.

Also some epileptics are really sensitive to flashes and sharp sounds, that must suck big time .

Seizures are triggered in epileptics by an overload of sensory input. In non-epileptics, sensory input is automatically kept under control by normal brain processes but this does not function properly in those with epilepsy. The specific type of sensory trigger is unique to the person with the disease. For one person it might be a pattern of flashing lights, for another it could be a low frequency music beat.

Nah i dont think is that big of a deal i mean... if it was more common it would be more known and there would be little warnings on the amps like in video games and such. The guy probably had predisposition to seizures although i'm not sure if it is hereditary... i always stand next to the amp
