Just something I want to share:
I bought a Squier VM P a few weeks ago and a Pandora mini to start practicing because I didn't/don't have enough money to buy the amp I'd like.
I have two guitar lying around: an Epiphone SG, which I'm not going to sell, but also a Schecter Hellraiser Tempest, which I have my doubts about keeping. I've had it for a few years now and it's served me well but it's never been perfect for me (I bought it without trying it first).
Since I started playing bass, I'm having second thoughts about sticking with guitar. Now I have my gaze set on a GK MB210 or 212 combo, so on to the key question: keep the guitar and just save up until I can afford the amp (which may take several months), or sell it and be only 100 Euros shy of being able to afford the amp?
I know, I'm a bit of a sentimentalist when it comes to selling gear... I'm just a bit afraid I'll regret selling it, even though I'm 100% sure there are guitars out there that would fit me a lot better.
Related question: if I were to sell, what do you reckon I could ask for it? I payed 700 Euros for it in 2009, it's a discontinued model as far as I know (not on their website anymore) and apart from a few very minor dings, it's in mint condition.
Alternatively (this thing just keeps getting longer and longer...), I could sell my Roland cube30 amp but I payed 120 Euros for it in 2005 so I doubt it'd get much for it now...
Anyways, in conclusion, any suggestion? How do you guys stand on selling gear vs. keeping stuff for sentimental reasons? |
