setting up a web site

I really don't know much about how to set up a website,i was wondering if anyone can give me some info on the cheapest way to do it and,the cheapest way to keep it?I know there are ez ways to do it,but i was wondering about other factors like bandwidth providers ect.. it will be a small personel bass site.

You can go with one of the free ones like yahoo geocities or angelfire. They dont give you a ton of space or bandwidth, but you could start learning how the stuff works that way.

Another good option is to make a myspace.com account. They have pretty good stuff for building music pages. Make sure you set it as a band account rather than a personal one. This way it will have the player built in. For what you are doing, myspace is probably the easiest way to do it.

For a real web site- I think GoDaddy.com has the best deal on registering the domain. Their hosting is a little screwy though.

When you go through any of these service providers, they offer a million "extras" that cost a little each. You wont need any of them.

As for HTML or however you want to create it, that's a whole other ballpark. I'd find a pirated copy of Dreamweaver and start there.
