God. I really, really hate bands that sit around and post myspace bulletins with things like "OMG, VOTE FOR MY BAND!". And yet... that's exactly what I've been reduced to.
My band is up for band of the month on this music blog / webzine called The Deli Magazine in Los Angeles. There's not even a prize, other than bragging rights, and a giant banner link to our website. At first when we were nominated we thought it was cute, something harmless to gauge fan/friend reaction. But then it happened. We started getting quite a few votes. We took an early lead by about 200 votes... and then another band "miraculously" caught up and overtook us by only a handful of votes... For the past week our numbers have been a back and forth battle.
Here's the thing. Voting ends tomorrow. We're currently down by about 20 votes. If anyone on here wants to help my cause it'd be much appreciated. If not, that's cool too. I'll post the link to the site, and if you would like to vote, by all means DO IT! And if you happen to know of a way to vote multiple times and have them all count, well heck, I certainly won't complain...
