The Shins

I have been really into them lately. I didn't see a proper thread dedicated to them on TB, so I figured I'd make one. I've been listening to their most recent album, Wincing the Night Away, Nonstop for the past couple days. It's amazing! It's really melodic, beautiful and weird.

If you don't know who The Shins are, I highly suggest you check them out.

Any other Shin fans out there? Any Shins-esque bands you recommend?

I love the shins, great songs.
I came to know them through the movie garden state, directed by zach braff. (i reccomend the movie too...) in a scene zach's character meets natalie portman's character, she is listening to her walkman, she says something like " you need to hear this song, it will change your life". she is listening to the shins, the song new slang.

Yeah, A lot of people know of them because of that. I knew of them originally because of that but didn't get into them then. I was too hardcore I guess. But I had New Slang on my ipod and it came up on random the other week, and I've been hooked since then.

Dig em. Kind of seems like a throwback. Has a kind of simon and garfunkel graduate feel to it. Then again it doesn't.
