Ship It To .com ??

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone ever hear of this?? I have a guy in Australia who wants to buy my Genz Benz Streamliner 600 and he said to lessen the shipping cost to use this service (SHIP IT TO .com). I really only want to ship in the US , but I was wondering if anyone heard of this before and if this is legit or a scam?? I know that I haven't. It's sad that scammers have to make you paranoid about selling stuff on-line.
Thanks for your response(s) and input.

USA Address & Mail Forwarding
Never heard of it but I don't see how adding a middleman could possibly
reduce the cost. It appears to be a service for forwarding American
goods to other countries. Maybe you don't pay the overseas shipping
but he will -- and he will undoubtedly pay a service fee on top of that.

I collect certain items so I buy and sell quite a bit on ebay. From my
experience, I have a shipping problem with about one out of every
one hundred items (1%). Either it arrives damaged or doesn't arrive or
some other problem occurs. The reliability of that 1% figure is almost
uncanny. I can almost predict when my next shipping failure will occur.

With a service like shipito.com, you're dealing with two shipments.
You're looking at a 2% failure rate. Furthermore, if something goes
wrong, they will most likely be pointing the finger at you.

I've bought and sold stuff between Australia on several occasions.
Usually, everything works fine. But once, I shipped an item and it
disappeared for three and a half months. If I remember correctly,
there was no way in insure it. I absorbed the loss and refunded his
money. Somehow, the item finally showed up. The buyer was
honest enough to tell me and repay me.

I'm just telling you some of the uncertainties you are dealing with.
When I ship international now and can't get insurance (which is
usually the case), I insist that the buyer accept ALL liability.
I use my high, perfect ebay rating as evidence of my integrity.
I'll hold up my end; I just can't guarantee that everything else will work.

Personally, I would avoid middlemen, ship directly and insist that the
buyer assume all risk.
