Sign in to disble this ad
Hi guys, I'm from Brazil and I found this bass on ebay
the guys "beatstreetmusic" ship worldwide through
"Standard Int'l Flat Rate Shipping" service.
The bass comes with hardcase and my question is
any chance this bass gets here scratched / broken /crushed ?
has someone used this service (Standard Int'l Flat Rate Shipping)?
thank you and best regards,
Alessandro Lupini

I'm not sure you can ship a bass using USPS Intl. Flat Rate, though. I think the box size will be too big. |

Beware of the taxes, though...
Take care!

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Dec 2008 Location: Brazil | | My basses came using USPS Hi !
I´m from Brazil and I bought 2 used basses from USA. The person that shipped the basses couldn´t ship them assembled.
The USPS does not accept shipping above certain size (had the same problem to buy a Aguilar GS 112 cabinet). But they are bolt on , so he unassebled them , packed very well and sent me. No trouble.
Tips :
1 - In Brazil , taxes are 60% over the declared invoice + shipping. If you buy a US$ 800 bass and the shipping is US$ 100, for instance, you must pay US$ 540 (converted to R$ , payed in cash - no check / credit cards) in taxes.
If you declare a small amount on the invoice, you could pay less taxes to Brazilian Customs. But if there is any kind of problem on shipping (damage or loss) , the USPS will refund you the declared value, so the risk is yours (I did it)
2 - Get a tracking number, so you could track it using USPS site and later , Brazilian Mail (Correios) site. At least a week to come from USA to Brazil.
3 - Be patient. For example, my Jazz Bass spent 30 full days with Brazilian Customs.
My basses arrived in perfect condition. No dings, scratches or dents.
Using this way , my basses costed me half the value that I could buy it on a Brazilian Shop.

| | | yeah just bought the bass let`s see what`s going to happen
I`m ok with the delivery time, 50% with the tax that the custom bastards will charge me
but I`m really afraid of any bass shipping issue (scratches , dents whatever)
let`s see
thanks for all help
btw the bass is neck though

I know that`s why I`m getting this baby from US...
gangmusic is charging almost R$ 4000,00 (+- US$ 2000) for a bass that cost only US$ 700,00

| | | Oi,
Tudo bem? Muito bom encontrar alguns brasileiros aqui no TalkBass!
Voce conseguiu resolver o lance do baixo?
Obrigadao e valeu!!
Um abraço,

Marco www.myspace.com/marcobassguitars www.marcobassguitars.com | e ai tudo bem
eu comprei o baixo sim , ja foi enviado inclusive
realmente baixaram o valor conforme eu solicitei.
