Shipping a bass or guitar?

I plan on selling an acoustic guitar of mine and I'll probably have to ship it. How do you go about packing one nice and safe-like? What if you only have a soft case to pack it in?

Do a search and you should be able to find a lot of info as the subject has been discussed a lot on this forum. Good luck!

bump the price and buy a hardshell from Musicians Friend - then use that box ... I personally would not ship an acoustic other than in a hard shell...

I have bought several basses and guitars online from reputable dealers (Bass NW, Bass Central, Musician's Friend), including one acoustic bass guitar and two acoustic guitars, and none of them were packed in a hardshell case.

As long as the instrument is properly packed, and insured, you have nothing to worry about.

Music stores receive new basses and guitars every day, and they are almost never shipped in a case, just packed well in a cardboard box.
