Shipping basses from US to UK

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi, i recently sold two of my basses to a guy in London and am ready to ship them pending the payment. The thing is I got quotes from USPS, UPS, FedEx, & DHL and USPS is about $150 w/ insurance & delivery confirmation but with the other people it's over $350 w/ no additional services !!! Has anybody shipped a bass to the UK? What was your experience?

USPS is the least expensive way to ship internationally.
$150 sounds about right to the UK and Europe.
Fill out all the paperwork and pay online for a 10% discount.

yeah, i think i'm gonna with USPS...
what about "customs" and "declared value"? did you put the ACTUAL VALUE? (the buyer seems pretty cool, and i wouldn't want to have him pay a bunch in customs) can the DECLARED VALUE be different from the INSURED VALUE?
