I currently own an Ibanez GAXB150 and a Johnson PP 800 or something lol i'm kind of a beginnier but i want to move up a little bit cos i think me skill has improved beyond my instruments and Fender rumble 15 practice amp. I was thinking of getting either a Peavey Grind 6 string bass or a Warwick sweet 15.2 amp (yeh i haven't got amazing funds). What should i get? Either that or i wait a while longer and get a 4 string warwick corvette $$.

Also, my dad is getting me a Ned Steinberger wav4 electric upright bass. Anyone played one of these? Whats your opinion? thanks in advance

You're kidding right? You're a beginner and you want to move up to a 6 string? Is it April 1st already?

Save up for a better amp. A decent amp can make a terrible bass sound worthy. If you really want to improve look into decent amps.

Even the best bass can sound terrible on a rumble 15.

the reason im thinkin of moving up to a 6 string is because i find it easier to play on basses with smaller string spacing. besides, i wouldn't say im a beginner really...just not as experienced as other bassists here. been playing bass for a year or so and guitar for about 3 years, but i just play bass now

I agree. Invest in a better amp first.

Thread title changed for clarification and moved to Miscellaneous.

There's a sticky at the top of this forum about which it's better to upgrade first - amp or bass.

I voted for amp.
