Im not sure if this is the right forum, but; I just found out my parents are going to get me something worth around $200 for graduating. I've been wanting a rackmount wireless, but they are very pricy, and money is something I don't have right now (saving for a car).
I went on http://www.basscentre.com.au/home just browsing, and saw in the used amps section a sampson wireless thats very small for $299. I prefer to get my gear from Billy Hydes, because they give me great prices; but the cheapest wireless they have is ~$600. I don't really know what to do |

My advice, in this case, shoot for something in the mid-class, although they are generally more expensive, I have found paying a bit more for a decent wireless (In my case, my current wireless is a Sure ULX that i bough from MF "scratch and dent".) I think I paid like $560, for a $700-$750 wireless. I've had it for nearly 8 years without a single issue. YMMV. |

I got this as a present a few years back and somewhat tossed it aside because I wasn`t really interested in going wireless and because I knew it was one of the cheaper sets available. However, I`ve recently started using it to a greater extent and I must say it`s fantastic for the price. It`s got a very long range with 0 delay time between you plucking the note and it registering, it`s priced very decently, and it(to my ear at least, and I`m quite picky about tone) doesn`t color your tone at all(I play through a MB so I would be able to tell fairly quickly if something was up).
So yeah, if you just want a wireless set that works and works well for cheap then I`d suggest giving this a try before you branch off into the sets costing over $500. Worst thing that can happen is you don`t like it and return it under 45 days. Best thing that can happen is that you`re satisfied and save a couple hundred bucks. |

The alternative to a wireless would be getting an EMG DC40 in my bass; so I have some decision making to do. |
