I can afford both of these, and am wondering what the difference between the two are. Could you someone please explain the difference to me?

Looking at the Shure website, there doesn't appear to be a great deal of difference.

The E4c's cable is an inch shorter. Also for some strange reason the Black cables seem to be alot shorter than the white for both models, stupid eh?!
The E4's also have more ear plug bits (sleeves I think they call them). By all accounts the replacement ear "sleeves" aren't very cheap.
The E4 also has a line volume control (Level Attenuator)

Also the headphones differ slightly in maximum loudness.
E3c- 115dB
E4c- 109dB

Hope that helps.

Pretty much.
