Signature Bass Riff Music Trivia Question

Sign in to disble this ad
Back in the days before song sampling and everybody suing each other over song plagerism, many songs used the same riffs, chord patterns, etc. The songs sounded extremely similar on purpose to capitalize on a hit song and songwriters admittedly stole, borrowed, or used what somebody else wrote to create a new song.

"Gimme Some Lovin'" is a huge hit song written by Steve Winwood, Spencer Davis, and Muff Winwood, and originally performed by the Spencer Davis Group. The signature basic bass riff of the song was admittedly "borrowed" from another song they all admired. What was that song and who did it?

I thought somebody would have known this music trivia question since it was bass related.
