Silent practice to CD?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys. I don't know if anyone can help me, but I may have to change my practice/rehearsal habits and I'm hoping somebody can help. Didn't even know what to search, so if this info exists, I apologize for the redundancy. I'm in an original band and recently replaced the bassist and am learning their material from previously released CDs as well as the stuff that's being recorded, with me on it, for their latest release. Due to new neighbor issues, I now have to find a way to listen to the CDs and play my basses, a four and a five, to them at the same time through headphones. What gear and setup would allow me to do this effectively? I don't have a Sansamp, for example, but could and would invest in one. I'd be using my Thunderfunk head in all liklihood. Anybody more tehnically inclined than I am who has solved this issue satisfactorily out there? I'd love some advice and a viable solution.

I guess the Cafe Walter with an iPod or CD player would do it.

I bought the Tascam CD-BT1 last year. You can play along to CD's, change the song's key, change it's tempo, etc. I've found it very useful. I would recommend the AC adapter, as it's a real battery muncher.

Thanks a million. Didn't realize that such a thing existed, although its need seems pretty obvious. Really appreicate it. Since bass specific places sell this, it must work well for bass. I thought this would involve miles of cable and splitters and who knows what else. The Cafe Walter would do the trick, it appears. Thanks again. And especially for such a fast response. I'm glad this won't be as difficult as I had originally anticipated.
