Singing lessons... How good is Speech Level Singing?

Sign in to disble this ad
I had my first lessong today.

My teacher uses the SLS technique.

As a 40-year old who's already learned two instruments, I am committed and understand it will take before I can sing as well as I can.

Of course I want to be more marketable as a bassist with backup vocal capabilities, but leading is not necessarily out of the question eventually.

What type of advice would you have for me, who's a total singing noob, as well as what your opinion is on SLS?

Thanks!!!

My wife studies with Seth Riggs (the developer of SLS), and is a HUGE believer in his methods!

The demonstration started with me arpeggiating Aaahs and it was a fail. Then the same but counting this time and it fell in just fine.

I know I don't have a "voice", but my idea is to be able to sing backups to be more marketable, so to speak.
