Has anybody seen the commercial for women's Lee pants with the song Sir Duke playing? It's not the original recording, it's a woman singing it, but the bass tone is nothing short of amazing. Sounds like a jazz bass with tons of growl. I hope at least someone has seen it. It's almost like it's THE tone I've been searching for, but I can't really do much about it. |

I've never played a jazz that sounds like that. Could that be the Sadowsky sound everybody raves about? |

That tone slapped me to attention! |

No answer on the bass player question yet, but I discovered that the vocalist is someone named Kirsten Price. Also found out that the Lee Jeans website allows you to download the entire song here (see the MP3 link at the bottom). http://www.lee.com/press/tvSpots.asp
The MP3 is very worthwhile -- some great playing!

Now that I listen to it more it actually sounds like it could be a PJ pickup config. It's got a hint of Wooten fingerstyle tone. |
