Just read (Comcast music choice "classic rock" channel) that Elton John had a top 40 hit every year from 1970 to 1996.

Wow, eight is pretty good considering you have to guess by year. I didn't even try. Wouldn't have gotten one. Pretty amazing how he was able to stay relevant for 30 years.

George Strait has more #1 hits (57) than Elton John has Top 40 hits (56). While he has only 85 Top 40 hits (second only to Elvis), he has more #1 hits than anyone in history, including Elvis and the Beatles.

I got 26, which were the ones I knew. But the rest I'm not sure I've heard.

I got 18. A whole string of them were unknown to me. Early to late 80's and later.

I got 18, most from '70-'76. That greatest hits album was on a lot in my house when I was a kid. When the answers came up, I recognized about 13 more--I really should have gotten Levon, Someone saved my life tonight and Lucy in the sky.
