Is it alright for your band to have like very few songs, no gigs as a full band, and seperated? But knowing a member will be coming back?

That's a pretty individual question. While some musicians may feel this to be OK, others may not.

It really depends whether or not your other band members view this situation as OK.

the few songs part is troubling to me... I'm in a full band, and our drummer is at school in london (2 hours or so from Toronto), so we dont' practice very often.. but we still try to when possible... gigging is officially kinda being put on hold till may/june or so when he's done.. we're trying to set up a mini-tour of ontario.. or something.

if you are ok with it, than its ok--a band is only going to be as good as you want it to be

if you want more gigs, get some; if you want to practice more, do it, etc

Oh well, if you have people not practicing, not showing at rehearsal and not inputting any ideas then thats a bigger issue than everyone agreeing to progress slower to accomodate the people in the band, and yeah it can be frustrating when you want to make a go of something and you feel people are holding you back.

Good Luck!
