Snark clip-on tuner

Sign in to disble this ad
Don't know if 'basses' is the right forum, anyways - a little heads up on this little fellah, I just bought it and it works like a charm. I'm used to Korgs in different versions with cable connection - very convenient from time to time to just snap this guy on the headstock. Seems to handle the E quite well, very intuitive to use. And cheap!!

Seems that they're available in two versions, a 'guitar'-version and an 'all instruments'-version. Mine is the latter, don't really know the difference though.

The red one has a mic with which you can tune anything.

I’ve been using that Snark for a few weeks now, and I like it.

My guitarist has a couple of the Snarks.
They're stupid cheap and extremely accurate.

That said, he's had some clip breakage issues, but at the price, they're really, really hard to beat.

I have one and it is the best 20 some odd bucks I have ever spent, use it on The bass and The electric guitar, very accurate indeed.

Yeah, man... I just got one to keep with my string-changing kit as a rough&ready tuner. It works, well,... GREAT!

Tracks fast and accurately from low B on the bass up to high E on my electric guitars. I'm impressed!

Yep, use it on my fiver as well. Additionally, it has a metronome of sorts built into it as well.

Funny.....the guitarist at my church just bought on and insisted i try it on my bass,it works really nice and yes it handles the b-string.
However the very 1st. thing i worried about when my friend hooked it up un my bass was the clip,it looks a little weak.

I've been using one for a few months. I also did a mini-blog on it: Jumping The Snark

It works great for home practice. It gets a little funny at loud live gigs. Then again that group tunes down a 1/2 step.

Snarks are good, they do break. I also have the GoGo TT-1, it is built a bit better. Tony

My instructor showed me one he got and it seemed to work really well. I found them on Amazon for about $13 so I picked up two for myself. I've tried them on my 5-strings and they seem to work well, even on the B.

Seemed like I had little to lose at that price and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a cool little gadget.

Outstanding product and dirt-cheap @ roughly $12 shipped (Amazon)

Tracks the low E on my bass without any problems whatsover. Word of mouth in the local area says it'll cope with the low B on a 5er just fine. No real need to get the more expensive one with the built in mic IMHO, unless you want to tune some sort of wind instrument. Anything with strings, it'll pick up the vibration directly from the body of the instrument

BTW if the funky color doesn't do it for you, get Musician's Friend to price match the Amazon price - they have 'em in black and will apply that price match to that color

"of sorts" meaning a visual display only, not audible - a goofy little flashing heart symbol

Wonder if this one's any good:

Korg Product Details

Recently saw it linked on another website. But I can't seem to find reviews or even anywhere to buy it

Just bought a Snark and love it, love it, love it.

Tues as quickly and accurately on my bass as it does on my classical acoustic as it does on my ukulele.

Done with pedals, done with the little Korg plastic rectangle, done.
