Okay, I don't really have any intention of ever being a full on lead singer - but in the band I play in currently we're trying to have everybody sing lead on a few - share the workload so to speak. I'm really not much of a singer - so I've found that song choice is everything for me.
The guitar player recorded a party that we played recently and has been editing video so that we can have video content on our web site. Here's me - caught on tape 'singing' one (almost more spoken word). Matt does Cake:

Sorry it's a bit sloppy - it was just a party and this still represents how we do this song… What do you all think - can I pull this off in front of people if & when we start playing out? Or, should I turn in my microphone and stay back in the shadows where the bass player belongs. If you click around some of the other videos posted by the same user you'll see that the band has me singing back up's on several tunes. I'm probably more nervous about how my singing will be perceived than I am about my bass playing.
Thanks for looking!
