So Far Tampa Craigslist "Musician" section Has the most Player haters

I posted clips of my playing for studio work, and was inundated with negative posts by people going BEYOND just posting opinions, but trying to undermine what I was doing with baseless "critiques". At the same time alot of people came to my support.

Also, there are so many working bands that are constantly being dissed in these anonymous posts to the point that all of us have to do damage control and double check everything we do. Without exagerrting, the Tampa craigslist is worse than HC

However, this one really takes the take:

I have been posting ads for Kenny Drew Jr on CL. If you haven't heard Kenny, youtube his name.

We experience the same sort of bickering on our CL Musicians section. You aren't alone. I suggest some deep breathing exercises and growing a zen like thick skin.

People have an opinion and a computer and no restraint to keep it to themselves,...what can you do?

I thought CL was for buying/selling stuff you owned or wanted, not for being a "chat" oriented website.

They also have a 'rants & raves' section, that is mostly filled with people talking crap about people of other races... check it out sometime, its sickening.

Anonymity has made internet tough guys out of anyone with access to a computer and internet, and a lack of testicular fortitude. It's pretty sad, but it's the nature of beast.

I have to agree with you. I search the Tampa Craigslist ad's looking for other musicians and it seems like every other post is a "RE" and/or bashing everyone and everything under the sun there. I wind up flagging a good 90% of the posts there in the hopes that it'll eventually deter the jerkoffs from posting and make it more attainable to reach serious/skilled musicians.
