Too bad...what album did you check out?

I was introduced to them in 2003 when they opened for Beck. I really can't say anything bad about them as a band-I think they are extremely consistent in putting out good/great songs, even when adapting their style.

"The Big Come Up" and "Thick freakness" are great straight forward blues albums, which might be up your alley if you didn't dig the newer stuff.

I'm not in love with their originals, but they did an EP a little while ago that was all Junior Kimbrough covers, and it's fantastic.

I love em. Cool songs and musicianship. I think I heard they are about to work with ZZ Top in some way.

theyre more rhythmic than anything else, and keep in mind, its just a guitarist and a drummer, cant do anything too complex. i just think theyre terrific blues players, i love them.
and i know what you mean, i didnt think dan auerbach was very good, but then i saw the blakroc webisodes, and he does all the instruments, piano, bass, guitar, vocals, even some percussion, its really good stuff.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sah8...eature=related i think this is the video, wait till about a minute 30 in

They are one of my favorite bands. I think they put soo much soul in to they're playing, it just oozes out of every pore. If you listen to them looking for technical excellence you won't find it. Just listen and feel the music. There music is some of the best out there right now.

Let me explain. I've had several friends telling me how great this band is and I've been looking forward to hearing them. After listening to several songs, I found that the music isn't much to listen to. Maybe I just seek a higher standard in music. Not trying to bash the band. The singer is good. A little too much recognition for their effort. -Luke

Let it grow on you. I turned on the Brothers album after not liking them...and I fell in love with that album.

Sometimes our expectations hold us back from finding something truly amazing.

IMO, you really need to check out Thickfreakness and Rubber Factory. It doesn't get much more raw than Thickfreakness, which I believe they recorded in a single 14 hour session. I love those albums, but nothing since then has rocked my world. The disc of Junior Kimbrough covers is very good though, and Brothers is growing on me.
