This EXCUSE THE PHONE PICS 2 plates of stainless and a 10mm bar Bars cut to length Bars drilled out and threaded M6 Set the bars into the holes (9.5 mm) rounded them welded both sides and ground flush Sabotaged 2 Straps  Sprayed it one coat of black Picked a spot And thats the lot And thats just the fender wall (never mind the spector

Secondly -- and for me this is the more important point -- I love the fact that at work you have access to that sort of fabrication infrastructure! What do you actually do for work? I.e., what do you usually produce in that shop when you're not bored?
Many years ago I briefly worked in an architectural millworking shop, building all sorts of stairs, fences, floors, cabinets, trim, detail filigree, etc out of wood. It was definitely not the right job for me...but there was something so cool about at the end of the day looking at this THING, this object that you'd built with your bare hands* and saying "That's what I did today. I made that."
*(plus a few hundred thousand dollars worth of power tools) |

*(plus a few hundred thousand dollars worth of power tools) | Lol i work in a meat factory as maintenance, im a electrician by trade but my job requires me to do a bit of welding (of which i am ametuer) and plumbing, we have a well stocked workshop which i can take full advantage of... when i get bored is when things dont break ie nothing to maintain which means im doing my job.. great part of maintenance is if something doesnt break and your just standing around ur doing a good job Quote:
