Well i play saxophone at the stage band at my school (also bass of course when our normal bassist isn't there) and one of the guitarist from another class (really annoying kid) got a fancy Les Paul and wha-wha pedal for Christmas (rich kids and their toys pfff.) So anyway i did him a favor and let him listen to my ipod so he could get a riff from the song holiday correctly (only song he knows and he makes fun of my lack of musical ability though i play mostly improv on my bass and sax when in my free time), well enough about my whining. since i did him a favor hes letting me borrow his wah wah for a day now. So i had an idea of attaching a mic to my sax (often done it is then run though and amp of course) but i got the idea to use the wha-wha pedal with the mic and amp so i would have a wah wah pedal for my sax. What do yall think? Think it will work or sound good?
I don't know much about technology for saxophones or if this stuff has been done before just something i though of. Also though of possibly adding some over effects ie distortion chorus delay.
Jeff Coffin (Bela Fleck and the flecktones) plugs an autowah into his saxophone and it sounds really cool, and on a sidenote, the sax player in garage mahal has put his sax through distortion and if you play the right lines, it sounds really cool
