Smile So, I met one of my idols (sorta) at dinner tonight..

Sign in to disble this ad
I was at Tokyo Garden, a local Japenese joint, sitting with my family at a Tepenyaki table... About mid-way through our meal, the chef sees a guy walk and says

"Hey, thats the drummer from the group Korn. They all come in her alot and sit at that back table."

I was like "Whoa, cool."

So I left it at that, cause I didn't want to disturb the guy. Korn is a local band, and I can get autographs almost whenever, because you run into them at the grocery store and such...

So my sisters are telling me I should go over to him and say "hey, aren't you the drummer for Hanson?" and stuff like that...

But then I get a bright idea...

Lets have him sign my chop sticks.

So I walk over, he is talking to his woman, so he takes a minute to turn to me...

"Hey, would you sign my chop sticks?"

*Weird look* "Sure man, whats your name?"
"Mike..."
"Cool... do you play?"
"Ya, bass is my main, but I've been picking up drums a bit lately since both are dependent on another for good souding rock `n roll."

At this point, I see the ADEMA tattoo on his hand... and am like, "Oh."

I was about to comment on his playing in "Got the Life" so im lucky i saw that he was from Adema, and not Korn...

So, he is signing my chop sticks...

"I saw you guys at The Dome last december, it was pretty kickin."

"Sweet..."

"Ya, I left with sore ribs. Your kick drum was like a shot to the gut."

"Ha ha.. Here ya go..."

"Thanks man..."

"Nice meeting you..."

"You too."

-----------------------

It took all of 2 minutes... I left it short and sweet... Because he was off being normal. And he definitely didn't want an autograph session... But I figured one beavis and butthead aged kid who recognized him... That shouldn't bother him at all, in fact he'd probably appreciate knowing that atleast bakersfield still loves him. :-p

First chop stick: "Hey Mike! You Rock!"
Second chop stick: "Kris Kohls ADEMA"

----------

Probably fairly lame to most of you, but it was really cool to me.

Were they used chopsticks, or new?

Adema sucks, but at least you have a spare set of chopsticks.

Meh. They all look alike.... Jonathan Davis (Korn's singer) is Adema's singers step-brother... So they probably hang out all the time and it is easy to mix them up...
