Sign in to disble this ad
Alright so heres the deal
Me and my girl both play bass, and I figured why not get her something bass related for xmas
But I kinda want it to have some kinda meaning behind it
Soooo...

I thought of buying a bass clef pendant and making a necklace outta a G-string. Clever huh?

But I dunno how exactly I'd pull it off. Any advice?

I made a bracelet out of a D string. First sized it to make sure I could get it over my hand, then wove it back and forth really tightly, ran the end through the ball end and crimped it off. I get comments on it all the time. Most people have no clue what it really is.

You could get her both a ring and earrings, and still be able to afford a lot of goodies for your collection ...

What might be cool, though I don't have any, are the colored bass strings made into a bracelet. Good luck!

Hardware stores sell clamps for making small loops on the ends of ropes and string. Like this one:
You'll then have to find a way to attach a clasp to both ends.
And don't forget to make sure the length is correct.
