My cousin just confirmed that I can hitch a ride with him, since the show is at the other side of the country (+/- 200 km) and I don't own a car.. |

Several years ago, there was a guy named Michael something. I think it was "Dothan" or something like that. He was very good, but I don't know who's holding down the bass chair now.
Then there was that great old album, "Live And Well". One side was studio recordings and the other side was from live performances. Jerry Jemmott played on the studio side. All I can say is, "Wow!"

His singing was as powerful as his playing was.
The band was of course...top drawer stuff. Tight, professional, always on cue.
It ought to be good. BB King ain't just blues, it's better.

He doesn't play throughout a song - he generally drops in very tasty guitar phrases, then sings, then comes back with another phrase on a guitar. It's not as evident on his recordings...but it jumps out when you see him in person.

He sings a line, then adds a lick, etc. Then he solos. But his phrasing is phenomenal.
