So My Playing Is Grounded for Awhile...

...While lifting weights today, a 35lb. dumb-bell decided to make my left index finger a target, and came crashing down ontop of it. Hurts pretty bad, It's also turned a nice shade of "bruised" and has reduced me to some form of degenerative "pecking" typing style. What made it all worse is that it was my left hand, or fretting hand that has suffered . Looks like no bass for awhile .

pity me... lol.

Marley's Ghost has a lefty for sale, I can lend you a
pick or two.

Usually when I feel the need to left dumbells, I lie down
till the feeling goes away.

Get well soon.

No pain, no gain! You need to be playing twice as much right now, to facilitate the bloodflow and get the swelling down. If it starts to hurt your finger too much, drop the dumbbell on your bare toe. That should take your mind off the pain in your hand, and you'll be able to play much faster, better, and with more conviction. Why do you think blues players always sound like they're in pain? Because a lot of them are!

Seriously, though, that sucks. Take a few days off until the swelling goes down. Hope you don't lose your nail- that REALLY sucks!
