So, you go to home depot..

I recently saw a thread about the neoprene washers that you can find at home depot and can be used as strap locks, so I thought, what else can you find at home depot?

Basically, I'm just curious, you walk into hope depot, what else do you buy related to your bass? Neoprene washers for strap locks, maybe some copper shielding, what else?

T-nuts and bolts for mounting speakers. Hole saw for porting. Batteries. Plastic storage bin for my miscellaneous gear. Elastic straps for securing gear to my handcart. Okay, I bought mine from Ace Hardware but I think I'm still within the general spirit of the post!

Velcro cable ties. A card of them in rainbow colors (too much of my gear is black) is a couple of bucks.

Welding tip cleaner for filing nut slots.

My strap lock washers came from the liquor store, from Grolsch beer bottles.

Speaker wire. Most hardware store, Depot including, have nice, round, rubber jacketed, SJ type power cord, that's excellent for speaker leads.

Lemon Oil.

...the other day I went in and bought the neoprene washers 'cause of that strap lock thread.

Well...maybe I got a slightly-too-big size or something. They do help keep the strap on a little better, but if you really pulled on the strap they'd slip right off. In this case, not really a substitute for strap locks, but helpful anyway.

2. Velcro of all sorts.
3. Micrometer which is very useful for measuring strings.

Yeah, I think you got them too big. I've been using them for years, and if you have the right size, you literally have to stretch them to get them off. I mean they DO come off easily when you take them off, but I've never seen one come off accidentally. Make sure the center hole on the washer is small enough that it has to stretch to fit over the strap button.

Gaffer's tape. To use as a mute. It leaves no sticky stuff behind.
