Software to print MIDI files

Sign in to disble this ad
Can anyone recommend some decent software (preferably free) that will open a MIDI file and let me print out standard notation? I don't need to do anything fancy, just print out a bunch of versions of a few folk tunes to see which would work best for my band.

Noteworthy Composer can import MIDIs, although the transcriptions will probably not be the most simply notated, as with all MIDI to score conversions. Cleanup would be needed to get a version for actual use.

Guitar Pro 5 does it really well but it requires a bit of work, you have to tell it what tracks are drum and bass tracks before you import them, for example.

Why do you need to print them to decide which to do?

Thanks, I'll try to download those. I only have a computer at work and it doesn't have any speakers. So if I want to listen to a MIDI file I have to print it out and play it myself.
