IT software toolkits

I hope this is understandable.

I have offered to take on a number of band related roles and am reviewing my software needs. This is what I am doing:

- Website revamp (to own domain name) and maintenance.
- Logo creation. I draw them. Then scan, clean and colour them, and use them for graphix for IT/print and merchandise.
- Web, email and paper published Newsletter.
- Email fan mailing list.
- Raffle to swap email addresses for tickets to win prizes.

What tools are people using to take on their bands electronic promotion and information organisation?

Thanks.

Last rehearsal my band took video using a Sony Handycam. I have the minidisc with 2 full sides, but can't install the Handycam software without connecting the Handycam (which I don't own). Thanks Sony!

So I'm chasing some recommendations for video editing software, and also advice on how I can clip the distortion coming from the kick drum on the audio track.

Recommendations most welcome!
