Today i got requested to play bass in two bands. Both have gigs in the next two weeks. One is playing for a school dance and their bassist flaked and they want me to replace him for good, the other is a one-gig deal that this guy is putting together for next week.

Im already in 4 bands O___o so basically music is taking over my life and im only 16:P

I wish I had that many bands around here, my 6th consecutive attempt at forming a band fell through today, so I'm kinda down. But good for you. All these opportunities show people think you're good.

Well im spread across 4 different instruments and now 4 different styles of music:P

And that really blows that your band didnt work im sure something will work out for ya soon enough just gotta try out for every band that pops up needing a bassist (or anything else that you play) and be very very versatile.

Thanks for the kind words man, It's to the point that I'll play for anyone who'll pay me. I'm learning how to be good at keys at the moment to be able to get greater chances of getting hired. But I may have one more shot at getting a good band band together, with some good musicians and friends that I've known for some years now.

By the way, I also play Guitar, Mandolin, piano and synth(poorly), organ, and trombone.

Haha yayyy another tromboner on here!

And i get so many band opportunities because pretty much all of my friends are really talented musicians and i get noticed playing bass at basketball games and whatnot.

And me being 16 and in high school (place to sleep, transportation and food free) i go for any band that needs someone to cover an instrument in my arsenal regaurdless of pay.

Btw i play: bass, upright bass, guitar, and trombone. Im working on piano (i have a cheap keyboard thats been laying around forever), ukelele and banjo (dont own either yet).

And have yet to take more than 1 (yes one) formal lesson.
