What point are you trying to make?

Meh, just because they only use bass guitars doesn't make it so. It's a fun song, fun as in Tenacious D style. It's a classic of Spinal Tap.

The Live Earth show with all those bass players on stage makes it legendary if nothing else

Musical comedy at it's best

Great gag on many levels. Not only is the double-neck bass silly because both necks are the exact same configuration, but the bridge and neck pups are both p-style. Harry Shear or somebody had to know they were making a joke of that. Maybe someone at BC Rich.

I could have 3 bassists gathered to do this tune within a day or two - I may have to push our group to cover this one. Genius!

What makes Spinal Tap even funnier is that they can actually play! A far cry from "Lenny and Squiggy"!

But it's not. It has a four string neck and an eight string neck.

The octave strings on the eight string neck have their tners at the butt end, in stead of on the headstock.

And the dual P p'up configuration was BC Rich's standard for bass back then.

Look at the video again and pause it when they are 'spanking' Nigel with the basses(about 3:25). See how there are tuners on the edge of the body behind the bridge on the top neck? Now do you hear that faint laughing far off in the distance? That's me laughing at you.

I'll take your word for it, I can't see it good enough to tell. Too bad, a missed opportunity for an inside joke.
