Songs that are specific to your local areas?

Here in Newcastle there's a load of songs which I've never heard outside Newcastle, even in Gateshead across the river.

So, what songs are specific to YOUR local areas? Anyone?

Here's a Newcastle one: Blaydon Races.

I recently played a gig, about an hour north of here. We played a bunch of Polka music. Even the teenagers were dancing, and singing the lyrics. I was pretty impressed.

I dunno if it's strictly a local thing, but Jonnathan Edwards' "Shanty" is known as "The Friday Song" around these parts and is played frequently on the radio as well as by bands (mostly with harmonica players) especially on Fridays.

horrible youtube video, but I think you'll understand: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iHSjU586hHI
