OKay, this is going to be a bit awkward in explanation but hopefully someone will be able to help.
I do a voluntary placement at a play center for children and young adults, some of whom have learning difficulties or disabilities. I put forward an idea at a meeting between me and my manager that I could perhaps help in some way musically, and my manager agreed that it would be great if I could play music, as they were thinking of doing a kid's music group.
So, now in order to get this idea working, I need to 'audition' some songs that I could play in such a situation. But I know close to nothing about kid's songs, barring some worship songs, and they're pretty much off-limits for obvious reasons. I'm also limited by the fact that I'm going to likely be playing in a small room, with my little practice amp, and not too much room for any technical gear.
So, has anyone got any good suggestions for good songs for a group like this? Bear in mind that some children will be young (2-3yrs old). Songs with actions would be good to keep their attention.
I ideally need something for guitar or keyboard, and bass. Any suggestions are appreciated!

Also, there's a guy out in the Midwest named Jim Gill. His day job is a special ed teacher, and he's put out CDs of music he wrote for his kids. It works great for special ed situations, and little kids of any kind just love them -- very simple, fun stuff. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bVq0qfidupQ

Sweet melody, short, funny, and they get to get in each others faces! What more could you ask for? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1wCtvco1FRU |
