songs that take you back

I've been talking to this guy at work and he's a big 80's head. He's got cd's from bands that I had long forgotten. Anyway, we were talking about specific songs that motivated us to "rock out" and he mentioned Iron Maiden's song "Wasted Years". I was like "MAN!!! I used to love that song! I forgot all about it". So I went home and downloaded it on itunes and I forgot how much I loved that cd. I'd say Somewhere In Time was probably my favorite Iron Maiden album.

Anyway, What songs that you've heard recently take you back to your roots of who you are as a musician? What songs that you forgot about popped up on the radio recently that made you remember them?

Anything off the Rolling Stones 'Through the past, Darkly' LP.
Takes me way back to 1998.
Have this on cassette.

Thrice - Artist in the Ambulance (album and song): Me and a couple friends got a leaked copy of it the summer before it came out and played it CONSTANTLY. It was essentially the soundtrack to easily the best summer I've ever had. I put it on again last week for the first time in ages preparing for their new album (which is awesome BTW).
