songs you HATE

Sign in to disble this ad
was thinking of karaoke earlier and some of the songs I hate...and sometimes what makes it worse is the ones that can't sing, that sings the songs I hate...

In Constant Sorrow ( what is so great about this song?? and I don't like George Clooney so he made it worse in that movie he "sang" it in...or did he really sing it, I don't care)

Free my Soul (both versions...including Uncle Kracker head's)

Ain't No Sunshine-cause the I know I know won't leave my head when I hear it...oh great...it's in my head now...

what songs make you wanna turn and walk out the club until song is over, make you turn the radio

feel sorry for those who play songs you don't like...

Anything by Celine Dion, Savage Garden, or nu-country makes me want to bring up my lunch!

I think I must be the only bass player who strongly dislikes Rush's YYZ. I really don't like the note choice of the guitar/bass riffing which also doesn't seem driving enough to make the song rock. Plus, later in the song, something possessed Alex to play a ska-esque rhythm guitar part which doesn't fit the song at all, and don't get me started on the keyboards during the intro -- it would be so much better without them. I think I'm probably gonna be flamed to hell and back.

Float On by Modest Mouse. I despise it. Seven Nation Army would have to be in an extremely close second place.

"Poker Face" by Lady Gaga (whose name I also can't stand) and "Love Generation" by Bob Sinclair are two that come to mind. I play in clubs where these songs seem to get played pretty regularly and both make me roll my eyes and curse to no one in particular. "Love
Generation" especially makes me want to knock the DJ out.

That "Chicken Fried" song needs to go away right now. Unfortunately for me I`m stuck in country music`s second capital and everyone`s ring tone just happens to currently be that.

Is there another version?

Here's a variant on this thread: What awful songs do you even THINK about and they are stuck in your head so much it just HURTS???

For me, anything Carpenters. They wrote really sappy but very catchy music... ICK!!!

Oh yeah - and Boy George. Someone needs to buy ALL that culture club music and destroy it for the sake of humanity.

And those great one-hit wonders... "Sad Eyes"... "Havin' my baby" (which would make a great doom metal song)... The list goes on...

Karma karma karma chameleon....

I love Man of Constant Sorrow, and thats one of my all time favorite movies..

Ill go with anything coming out these days that gets airtime.. I mean, I love some of it, dont get me wrong.. But if I have to hear one more song about "Slapping them hoezz," Im going to blow a gasket.

Lips of an Angel...words can't begin to describe my hatred for that song.
All Summer Long by Kid Rock, too.

I call them "bridge abutment" songs.....tunes so bad that it makes me want to steer my '92 Ford F-150 into a concrete pillar so as to end the agony.

As far as country music goes, all I can say is that "country girls" must not have much self-esteem. Last song I heard suggested that a guy could get schtupted on any given Saturday night provided he had oversized tires on his pickup....which pretty much explains some of the venues we play.
