Songs That You Just Cant Help Feeling Good and Grooving Along To

You know the ones - the make you feel good no matter what kind of rubbish day you've had. They capture the essence of "happy" and make the world seem a better place. You can't help but grooving along to them and don't really care if other people see you doing so, even in public among a bunch of strangers.

They make you want to pick up your bass / guitar/ congas / keyboard / trumpet / tambourine / castanets / <instert favourite instrument> and jam along and make you think "Man, I gotta get my band to play this"

My first one (probably of many):

Late In The Evening - Paul Simon

The Weezer Blue album is my happy album. It doesn't make me want to pick up a bass, per se... Just makes me happy when I listen to it.

Funk #49, for me. I always get excited when I hear the bass, and I forget about everything else. Also, Closer to the Heart by Rush.

Jungle Love - Steve Miller

Its physically impossible for me to keep my hips and shoulders still when I listen to this song.

Not that there's any point in trying to .

The list is just too, too long and I don't think I can pick just one song. But, since you mentioned Paul Simon and another TBer mentioned a Joe Walsh/James Gang song and another James Brown.................

Kodachrome Paul Simon
The Bomber (long, long version) James Gang
Cold Sweat James Brown.

also...............

Ramble Tamble CCR !!!!!!!!!!!!!! mega awesome song!

Just too many to mention............... ok, one more.

Won't Get Fooled Again The Who

Lovely thread

I'll go for 2 songs, actually :

The first one is ''The Stringless Violin'' by Adagio

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9az9...4qjcSeGpJQXnoA

The second one is ''Sacred Worlds'' by Blind Guardian

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4MLmd...4qjcSeGpJQXnoA

Both songs have 2 long keyboard intro's, but as soon as the drum, guitars and bass kick in, I'm all pumped up!

That's a good one.
Back in the day, "Mornin'" (Al Jarreau) was always on the radio. Hearing that on the morning drive was always welcome.

Hearing the occasional Oldie for me brings back memories of a simpler time.
Examples:
"Up, Up & Away"- The Fifth Dimension
"Grazing In The Grass"- The Friends Of Distinction

It depends on the season - Andrew Bird/Noble Beast really worked for me as a summer record. (when locked up in an office on a weekday, to be more specific)

Was listening to Andrew Bird when I opened this thread....funny coincidence.

For me the list would include songs like:

"Groove me"-King Floyd
"Papas got a brand new aug"-James Brown
"Everyday people"-Sly and the Family Stone
"Where it's at"-Beck
"Send Me OnMy Way"-Rusted Root
"Cecilia"-Paul Simon
The list goes on....

Pink Floyd - Time
I know it's theme can be a little depressing but it really makes me appreciate the current moment in time. Plus, it's got a great bass line and one of my favorite Gilmour solos.

RHCP - Charlie
Just makes me wanna run around
