They capture the essence of "happy" and make the world seem a better place. You can't help but grooving along to them and don't really care if other people see you doing so, even in public among a bunch of strangers.
They make you want to pick up your bass / guitar/ congas / keyboard / trumpet / tambourine / castanets / <instert favourite instrument> and jam along and make you think "Man, I gotta get my band to play this"
My first one (probably of many): Late In The Evening - Paul Simon

Its physically impossible for me to keep my hips and shoulders still when I listen to this song.

Kodachrome Paul Simon
The Bomber (long, long version) James Gang
Cold Sweat James Brown.
also...............
Ramble Tamble CCR !!!!!!!!!!!!!! mega awesome song!
Just too many to mention............... ok, one more.
Won't Get Fooled Again The Who

Back in the day, "Mornin'" (Al Jarreau) was always on the radio. Hearing that on the morning drive was always welcome.
Hearing the occasional Oldie for me brings back memories of a simpler time.
Examples:
"Up, Up & Away"- The Fifth Dimension
"Grazing In The Grass"- The Friends Of Distinction

"Groove me"-King Floyd
"Papas got a brand new aug"-James Brown
"Everyday people"-Sly and the Family Stone
"Where it's at"-Beck
"Send Me OnMy Way"-Rusted Root
"Cecilia"-Paul Simon
The list goes on....

I know it's theme can be a little depressing but it really makes me appreciate the current moment in time. Plus, it's got a great bass line and one of my favorite Gilmour solos.
RHCP - Charlie
