The sound people will hear

Hey.
I didn't know quite where to post this, since it considers both amp and bass.
I just played a fast 1/16 groove on the bass, and as usual, I heard some fret/string-ratling noise. Then I put on my new headphones and put them through the amp and turned it up so loud, that I couldn't hear the non-amplified sounds from my bass. All of a sudden - no noise.
Now, my question is - does the fret noise go through the amplifier or can I hear them just because I am so close to my bass? What will other people hear, fx live with the volume turned up - will they be able to hear the fret and string ratling?

It's cuz your bass is right underneath you. But... sometimes, fret clacking will come through.

But you gotta remember, it's a natural sound, and should come through anyways. That's how you play! If it's annoying and overbearing, then you gotta dial it out.

But also remember, that "noise" is in the frequency range of the cymbals, hihat, upper parts of the guitar... you're not really gonna hear it in a recording mix. I've just done tests with recording a demo, and I noticed that I miss that clacky sound, even though when playing the whole mix it disappears. But keeping that high end in there sure does make a difference.

It depends on the native resolution of your cabinet and how you EQ.

If you set an Acme cabinet flat and crank it, you'll hear that junk outside in the parking lot.
